Designer Scarlett Niven discovered Second Life while reading an article on virtual shopping in January of 2007. She quickly joined the ranks of shopping fashionistas and started her blog, The Digital Image in June of 2007. Intrigued by this new platform and its any possibilities for expression and creation, Scarlett launched "ScarlettCast!" machinima - a virtual world video magazine in March 2008 where she traveled around the grid and did spotlight segments on stores and personalities in Second Life. She has gone on to do other machimina in second life, fashion based, as well as cinema. She was selected to represent SL as Stuff Magazine's/Budweiser Select's "Lingerie Legend" was featured on the RL website of the company and created a RL calendar featuring virtual models. Her first fashion collection was launched in the Fall of 2008 and showcased her unique designing skills and avant garde, couture styles.

MonoChrome is her Spring/Summer 2010 collection of black and white designs, textures and face makeups taking its cues from anime heroines such as Aeon Flux, the movie Blade Runner and pulp fiction comic books. Scarlett just released a teaser ad for her A/W 2010 collection L U X E which will debut during Modavia's Fashion Week in early September 2010.
